Throughout March, 3D Systems proudly honored the legacy of women all over the world and celebrated their contributions to history, culture, and society. As an organization, we invited our global team to participate in the following activities: Coffee & Conversation networking events, a panel discussion hosted by the Women of 3D Employee Resource Group, our partnership with the Women in 3D Printing group, and the sharing of extensive development resources for women through our internal Culture |One 3D website. By raising awareness and having meaningful discussions, we can promote a more inclusive and belonging culture across the globe at 3D Systems.
Below is a recap of some of our activities.
Break the Bias
This year's International Women's Day was held on March 8th. The theme called for us to join together to “Break The Bias” and address gender bias, discrimination, and stereotypes. The women of 3D Systems joined in solidarity with women all over the world in the pursuit of diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environments. Thank you to 3D Systems team members for participating in this year’s IWD 2022 movement: Ashley Rist, Jane Frires, Nicole York, Charmaine Berry, Amber Porter, Susan Norwood, Cathy Phan, Mike Martin, Kat Watts, Laurel Ditson, Melanie Ronneberg, Amy Black, Patricia Hill, Alina Tubman, Livy Stiers, and Daphna Sadovnik.
Coffee and Conversation
3D Systems EVP & Chief People & Culture Officer Phyllis Nordstrom and our People & Culture team members helped kick off our global women’s networking community with a Coffee and Conversation series. Beginning at our locations in Rock Hill, SC, team members came together to connect, network, engage, and share experiences with each other as we continue to promote an inclusive and belonging culture globally. Additional Coffee & Conversation events will take place at other sites.
Women of 3D Employee Resource Group Panel Discussion
As part of our monthly celebration on the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, the Women of 3D employee resource group hosted a virtual panel discussion on the International Women’s Day theme for 2022, “Break the Bias.” About 50 attendees engaged with Phyllis Nordstrom, EVP & Chief People & Culture Officer; Tashina Stinson, Process & Program Director; Tanya Plascencia, Director of Regulatory & Compliance; Catherine Rivan, Director of Knowledge Management; Tarrah Wade, Organizational Learning & Culture Specialist; and Katie Weimer, VP of Regenerative Medicine.
Getting involved with the organization Women in 3D Printing
3D Systems is proud to again sponsor Women in 3D Printing, an organization that is dedicated to promoting and supporting women in additive manufacturing (AM). To increase the visibility of women in the AM industry, Women in 3D Printing has a strong community and network that features stories and interviews on women making a difference in the field.
Women have made significant contributions throughout history, all while facing discrimination and adversity; however, many of the challenges faced by women in the past are still present today. 3D Systems is committed to a culture of representation and embraces dialogue that opens doors for change, so the women of tomorrow can live in a world where equality truly exists.
